The following presentation was delivered by Mr. Hrvoje Badovinac, Medtronic Corporation's Manager for the Adriatic Region.
"I am happy and honored to be at this opening of the new Community Health Information Center. I would like to share some words on Medtronic, our mission and Medtronic Foundation. For over 50 years, Medtronic has had the same mission: saving and restoring lives of patients around the world. Thanks to this commitment to our mission, every 8 seconds, another life is improved somewhere in the world by a Medtronic product or therapy. This commitment of helping and saving people is also reflected in our Foundation. Even if Medtronic is the largest medical technology company in the world, we always work in communities.
At Medtronic, it is our strong belief that we need to give back to the communities where we operate. The Medtronic Foundation was set up about 25 years ago, and is since then it has been dedicated to helping people live healthy and productive lives, wherever in the world. That is why I am so happy to be here with you today, because your project—the Wired Project—really is in line with our goals and values: WiRED's project and this Center provide access to health information and education through modern technology and use of the most recent communication and information tools. Through the tools provided here today, you will be doing work that will make this project come true and by doing that, you will make our commitment at Medtronic come true.
I am confident that this project will help accelerate the ongoing progress of the Bosnian healthcare knowledge and quality. I would like to thank you for giving me and Medtronic the opportunity to be part of this achievement and I wish you a lot of success in the further rollout of the project."
