WiRED Announces Request for Proposal under Initiative
in Honor of Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens

n October 2015 WiRED International launched a community health education initiative honoring the late Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens. (See earlier story.) Now WiRED is issuing a request for proposal (RFP) to offer organizations and institutions working in low-resource regions the opportunity to join in a project in honor of the late ambassador, who worked tirelessly to improve the lives of people in underserved countries.
The purpose of the present RFP is to identify a group of partners to assist in providing critical health and medical training in low-income regions. Successful applicants will receive training packages consisting of computer hardware (portable projector and laptop), the complete WIRED health training library of 350 modules and train-the-trainer assistance to bring these educational programs to medical professionals and local populations.
WiRED encourages clinics and hospitals, medical schools, schools of public health, local school districts and nongovernmental organizations working in developing regions and in a health-related field to submit applications.
This project builds on WiRED’s community outreach program designed to teach communities about prevention and good health. This community education work is consistent with Ambassador Stevens’s approach to community assistance for people in greatest need.
