WiRED International Welcomes Dr. Anne Stevens to Governing Board

WiRED International is pleased to announce that Anne Marguerite Stevens, M.D., Ph.D. recently joined our Governing Board. Dr. Stevens will be a remarkable addition to our board and contribute much to our activities and mission.

 

WiRED International Board Chair Anthony Hodge said, “Anne has an extraordinary academic and medical background; I’ve found her to be interesting, engaging and terrific to work with. She cares deeply about health education in developing regions and strongly supports WiRED International’s outreach projects around the world.”

 

Dr. Stevens is Associate Professor, Department of Pediatrics, University of Washington, and specializes in pediatric autoimmune diseases. Her practice at Seattle Children’s Hospital is in pediatric rheumatology.

 

Dr. Stevens earned a B.S. in Biochemistry at the University of California, Davis, and both her Ph.D. from the Department of Microbiology and Immunology and her M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine. She has won numerous scholarships and awards, and she has lectured around the world. Dr. Stevens has published more than 50 articles in scholarly journals, dozens of book chapters, abstracts and reviews to mention only some of her academic credentials. In addition Dr. Stevens oversees several nonprofit endeavors, such as the Seattle Children’s and Massachusetts General joint venture bringing health and medical support to the country of Libya.

 

Dr. Stevens makes an impressive addition to the WiRED International Board.
